The Stars of Lucan a great nights entertainment.

The Stars of Lucan is a showcase of the wealth and variety of local talent in our midst. Lucan is lucky to have some of the performing groups in the area offering wide range of in song and dance.

Sarah O’Connor our main act from 2010 had come through some of these same schools and has gone on to do amazing things since then. We are extremely pleased to have even a bigger line-up for this year’s event. We hope you can come and join with us in a great night’s entertainment this is a key event in our fundraising for Lucan festival programme (Sept 19-25).

This year’s event will take place on Saturday May 21st at the Church of Ireland parish centre on Main Street, starts at 8pm.

Tickets are now on sale €5 in advance of the event €7 on the door, there will also be a raffle on the night with many great prizes.

Dancity Ireland

Formed in Oct 2009 Dancity Ireland, have grown from strength to strength since they won the All Ireland Variety Show Championships in 2010 and most recently 2011 in the INEC Killarney. Dancity also performed at last year’s  Stars of Lucan.

Grandma Frochlin

from Connemara, of Spanish descent.  (Sketch) She gives an insight into her life, her likes and her loves.

Lee Byrne Dance Academy

Established 1990 to teach and promote Irish dance and culture and to encourage and instruct the next generation of Irish dancers to pursue their dreams. Their Irish Dance Troupe were the featured Irish dancers at Disneyland Paris for the St. Patrick’s Festival from 2005 to 2010. Lee Byrne also performed at last year’s Stars of Lucan.

Lorcan James

A native of Co. Meath Lorcan is now living in Lucan. Although he still performs solo, a band of the same name has formed. They consist of Lorcan James (Main vocals, rhythm/lead guitar), Utku Sarper (bass/backing vocals), Davitt Barry (lead guitar/backing vocals), Eoin Redmond (Drums) Influences include Bruce Springsteen, The Police, Jimmy Hendrix, U2, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel.

Strings

A duo made comprising of Fiona Dalton (vocals) and Milla (vocals and acoustic guitar) they will perform some timeless songs including ‘Time After Time’, ‘More Than Words’, ‘To Make You Feel My Love’ and ‘Black Horse and a Cherry Tree’

Westside Stage School

Based in Lucan for many years teaching many styles of dance including jazz, street jazz, Hip-Hop, contemporary and musical theatre classes. WestSide are affiliated with some of the top performing Arts Colleges in the UK, past students include Ben Morris and Sarah O’Connor from last year’s RTE’s ‘Fame the Musical.’
