Lucan festival is delighted to announce that Lorcan James will play at the Village Stage on September 25th. We will be announcing more great acts for the event over the coming week that will also be appearing.
Lorcan James is a four piece outfit – with Lorcan James (Main vocals, rhythm/lead guitar), Utku Sarper (bass/backing vocals), Davitt Barry (lead guitar/backing vocals), Paul Madden, (drums and backing vocals)
Lorcan originally from Co. Meath now living in Lucan, spent 2007/2008 in Mexico where the flavours and sounds there, enriched his musical palette as a songwriter. After performing in many local venues, he returned to Ireland to start what would be his debut EP entitled ‘Buried Alive’
A meeting with musician Utku Sarper would prove timely and along with sound engineer and producer Ger McDonnell (U2, Martha Wainwright, Manic Street Preachers), he would help define a distinctive sound. Lorcan James crafts songs with themes that are out of the ordinary from mainstream music.
Recently Lorcan James and his band had the privilege to play at the renowned 100 Club in London and in May 2011 and they also played at the final of the Spanish Tennis Open in Madrid July 2011
Lorcan James has picked up a few accolades along the way – named as ‘Next Big Thing’ in U Magazine and ‘Artist of the Month’ in Music Review Unsigned.
On July 7th Lorcan James launched their new EP at Whelans Upstairs on to a full house.
Have a listen and see what you think we like it! Catch him at Lucan Festival on September 25th.
