A unique cinema event during Lucan Festival

This year we are please to announce a very unique event during Lucan Festival. It’s more than 30 years since there was a cinema in Lucan.

We would like to thank South Dublin County Council Arts, McDonalds Restaurant and Superquinn who have kindly donated to make this event possible.

This year we intend to bring Cinemobile to Lucan for 3 screenings on Thursday 23rd of September at Superquinn Car park.

  • The afternoon show will be a kids movie MARMADUKE with a McDonalds meals as part of the ticket price.
  • The second movie will be THE COMMITTMENTS !
  • The evening movie will be MAMMA MIA! a GALA Event!!!!!! with cheese and wine reception prior to the screening provided by Superquinn at their Cafe. This we hope will be a good night out for all Lucan ladies!!!!  showing a good ‘chick flick’ (more details to follow). Tickets will be on sale for all three screening shortly, booking is essential.

If you wish to find out more information on this event and how you can book your ticket, please contact Festival Secretary Tom Dowling at Lucanfest10@gmail.com

Tickets now on sale!!

What is Cinemobile?

Cinemobile took to the Irish roads in April 2001 as one of the most ambitious of the Millennium projects. The Cinemobile travels as a large, articulated vehicle which, on arrival at each venue, hydraulically unfolds to three times its width revealing a state-of-the-art, 100- seater air conditioned cinema., wheelchair-accessible with full projection facilities.
We are really looking forward to this event!!

    1. Thanks Joe, I think you have answered your own question. The Quiet Man really is a good movie, and possible with an extended 2-day cinema programme next year we may be in a position to put on films such as the Quiet Man.
